The first web marathon to fund research into genetic diseases has started. 20 years after the first television edition, the Telethon Foundation has decided to involve all online users in its mission: to raise awareness of genetic diseases, the results of research and to ask for support to move forward. It is possible by promoting the Telethon cause on your website or social network, through the campaign banners and the widget. The latter , you see it here on the right, once inserted into its web space will calculate all the donations which, passing from there, arrived at Telethon and ended positively, therefore it will show everyone's ability to stimulate aid. All the activities, online and offline, implemented by the Telethon team made up of various partners, including Digital PR , will culminate in the live Youtelethon web marathon on 11 and 12 December.
Starting today, Facebook will begin asking users Brazil Phone Number to review their privacy settings. Through a more simplified and transparent process, users will be able to decide what to share with everyone (e.g. status messages) and what content to restrict to their own circle of friends and family (e.g. holiday photos). The goal is to make users more aware of the flexibility of privacy settings that the platform offers, but also to push them not to be afraid of making most of the information public. In most cases, in fact, the suggested setting is maximum aperture, but users who have chosen more restrictive settings in the past will find them as default. Already in June some accounts, including mine, had been updated with the possibility of deciding the recipients for each individual status update ( see here ).
The Internet functioned as an organizational infrastructure, but it would be interesting to understand whether it can be considered the first successful Italian event to arise spontaneously or whether there was a precise direction behind it (in this sense, read this discussion on Friendfeed and the doubts raised here ). PS it is interesting to note how the idea of the " berlusconi-joker " born from my imagination a few months ago, was re(ad(a/o)ttated) first by MicroMega, then by the organizers of the event...ideas on the net like viruses mutants.
